Spanish 1 - Only 5th hour met today due to an early dismissal. Today we worked on a Spanish translation trivia game and finished the powerpoint notes from yesterday.
Spanish 2 - Today we completed our powerpoint vocab notes from yesterday and finished the hour by playing Spanish trivia on freerice.com in the computer lab. Spanish 3 - No class met today due to an early dismissal. Spanish 1 - Today we did several speaking activities and writing activities to practive the use of Spanish adjectives. We also completed a partner interview worksheet. After reviewing adjectives we took a short pop quiz which you will need to make up if you were absent. We ended the hour with powerpoint notes on adjective agreement.
Spanish 2 - Today we took our test over our extracurricular activities unit and then began powerpoint notes over the vocab from our new chapter. The vocabulary handout is in the makeup box and please see me to make up the test. Spanish 3 - Today we took our vocab quiz for this unit. Afterwards, we watched the next episode of "Destinos" and took a quiz at the end of the hour over the episode's main characters. Spanish 1 - Today we continued to take powerpoint notes over our new vocabulary and we completed two audio activities with our vocab. We also read a Spanish skit and answered questions over it for speaking points. Finally, we chose 5 celebrities and wrote 2 sentences about each using our vocab sheet. Please do this activity and hand it into my makeup box.
Spanish 2 - Today was spent reviewing for tomorrow's chapter test by playing "Who Wants to be a Millionaire." Afterwards we read an article from the textbook over the Hispanic Ballet Folklórico and spent some time analyzing music samples from different genres of Latin music. We ended the hour by watching a clip of some traditional Hispanic dances. Spanish 3 - Today we played the vocabulary matching game in preparation for tomorrow's vocab quiz. We then took powerpoint notes in our foldables over the imperfect tense (including uses, regular verbs and irregular verbs). Please get these notes if you were absent. Spanish 1 - Today we took the test over "me gusta/no me gusta" and activity vocabulary. Afterwards we began taking powerpoint notes on next chapter's vocabulary topic: personality traits. Please see me to make up the test and be sure to get the handout from the makeup box.
Spanish 2 - Today we began working on a vocabulary project: making a brochure of EAWR's extra curricular activities and hi-liting one of those activities in a paragraph. (The paragraph format is as follows: Hace _____#____ años que EAWR tiene ______actividad____. En ____actividad_____, hay que ___verb_____ y _____verb______. Es un club/deporte muy _____adjective______.) Your brochure will have three sections: the school's name, a list of 10 extracurricular activities in Spanish, and the title page with the school's name and an illustration. Please fold your project into a brochure. See me for paper and to look at examples. Spanish 3 - Today we turned in and checked last night's homework. We also completed several activities with our new vocab for oral points and writing practice. Finally, we made a foldable for this unit's notes. See me for paper. Spanish 1 - Today we reviewed how to make negative sentences in Spanish by doing a few activities for speaking points. We also read an article over 5 different types of Latin music and listened to sample clips in order to pick out the main instrument in each. We learned a simplified version of dancing the mambo and then watched a short video of professional mambo dancers. Finally, we completed a reading activity for practice.
Spanish 2 - We began by collecting Friday's homework and then continued our notes on time expressions in Spanish. We completed a partner worksheet and reviewed them for speaking points. We also read a short article over singer Celia Cruz and completed an activity over the article for points. (I put this in the makeup box for you.) Finally we watched a video clip of Celia Cruz performing "La Vida es un Carnaval." Spanish 3 - We started the hour by receiving our graded tests from last week. We then completed our new vocabulary notes from powerpoint, and we rounded out the hour by playing vocab bingo. There will be a vocab quiz coming up on Thursday so please be sure to get the notes you missed. Spanish 1 - Today we reviewed the three types of Spanish infinitives that we got yesterday and learned how to look up verbs in the dictionary. We then began a poster project: you must write three "me gusta" sentences and three "no me gusa" sentences using verb infinitives in each one. (You are not limited to the vocab sheet; use a Spanish dictionary to look up new verbs.) Each sentence must have a magazine photo to go with it. See me for poster paper.
Spanish 2 - Today we took our vocabulary quiz, which you will need to make up if you were absent. We also checked and collected yesterday's homework and played a review game using the verbs saber and conocer. We then took powerpoint notes on using the verb hacer for expressing time. Finally, we answered questions on a notecard for homework, which you can pick up in the makeup box. Spanish 3 - Today we watched the next episode in the Destinos series. Afterwards we began vocabulary notes for our new chapter, which we will continue on Monday. ***If you were absent today, but either have your receipt from last night at Buffalo Wild Wings or can get a member of the faculty to vouche for seeing you there, please see me to receive your extra credit.***

We then took notes on the definition of a verb infinitive and completed an audio activity to identify the three different types of Spanish verbs. We finished the hour by playing bingo to review our vocab words. Spanish 2 - We began the hour with a partner worksheet to review our vocab. Next we took powerpoint notes over the verbs conocer and saber, completed a corresponding activity in our foldables, and played a game for review. We then started a homework worksheet using these two verbs. Spanish 3 - Today we took our unit test and handed in our study guides and foldables for points. ***Don't forget to eat tonight at the Edwardsville Buffalo Wild Wings between the hours of 4 - 10 pm! Bring your flyer to present at the restaurant and don't forget to give me your receipt tomorrow for 10 points of extra credit!***

(This activity is in the makeup box). We also did a partner activity worksheet and practiced our speaking skills for oral points.
